MOZIX

Mozambique Internet Exchange

The Mozambique Internet Exchange was created in May 2002. It was the result of a void in the local Internet infrastructure in which local traffic was being exchanged externally between providers. By establishing the Exchange, it was possible to keep local traffic local.

The exchange started initially with 5 peers and has since increased to 18 peers. All peers exchange traffic between themselves as an agreement to give an equal chance to all peers (This is more of a gentleman agreement).
